How to Dual-Wield in Elden Ring Nightreign

In Short
  • Just like in Elden Ring, you can dual-wield armaments and use them together in Elden Ring Nightreign.
  • To dual-wield weapons, bring up the Equipment tab and place the weapons you want to use together in the first two armament slots.
  • Dual-wielding can unlock unique movesets, but only if you use weapons of the same kind together.

Elden Ring Nightreign features largely the same combat mechanics as the 2022 GOTY winner. Barring a few weapons and attack animations, the core fundamentals behind its combat system have been carried over from Elden Ring, including mechanics such as two-handing and dual-wielding armaments. The latter can be especially useful to diversify your build as it unlocks unique movesets. So, if you’re looking to learn more about it, check out our guide on how to dual-wield in Nightreign.

How to Dual-Wield Weapons in Elden Ring Nightreign

To dual-wield weapons in Elden Ring Nighreign, you simply need to put armaments in both the left-hand and right-hand weapon slots. After acquiring multiple weapons, bring up the Equipment tab by pressing the pause button. Now, place the weapons you want to dual-wield in the first two slots as seen in the image above. Doing so will see your character wield weapons in both hands.

There are a few things to remember while selecting the weapons you want to dual-wield. For starters, if your character doesn’t meet the level requirement for a specific gun, dual-wielding it would be ill-advised since its damage output will be significantly reduced.

Secondly, some characters are better-suited to dual-wielding weapons. Examples include the Duchess and the Executor, who boast impressive Dexeterity, allowing you to chain those combos in rapid succession.

Furthermore, the best weapons to dual-wield are Curved Swords, Daggers, and Twinblades. These armaments are swift and lethal, and if you pair them together, procuring status effects will be a breeze. Lastly, it’s essential to remember that you will only get access to unique movesets if you dual-wield weapons of the same kind. This means that dual-wielding two Colossal Weapons will let you pull off special combos, while pairing a Colossal Weapon with a regular straight sword will result in standard attacks.
